NAU students, alumna, staff participate in webinar about cross-border experiences

The Arizona-Sonora Interuniversity Alliance will kick off its next webinar series with “Student Experiences across the Border” from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5.

This webinar will highlight student accounts of cross-border studies and research. Students from all three state universities (NAU, ASU, UA) and higher education institutions of Sonora will participate in a dialogue surrounding experiences of Sonoran students in Arizona and Arizona students studying and conducting research abroad in Mexico.

The webinar will feature alumna Maria Nelly Gutierrez, who earned her master’s and Ph.D. at Northern Arizona University. Hotel and Restaurant Management student Shaun Gibson, who studied in Mexico through the Interdisciplinary Global Program, will represent NAU on the Binational Short-Term Stays and Experiences panel, which will be moderated by Kristin Allen, program manager for strategic global initiatives in NAU’s Center for International Education.
