Nearly 3,000 students will have their degrees conferred by Northern Arizona University during three ceremonies set for Friday, Dec. 12, in the Skydome in Flagstaff.

As part of the observances, NAU will award honorary degrees to an entrepreneur of Navajo small business and a foundation leader committed to higher education and philanthropy.

Commencement ceremonies are scheduled as follows:

9 a.m.


This ceremony is for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students in:

  • The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • University College
  • Extended Campuses

1 p.m.

This ceremony is for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students in:

  • The College of Education
  • The College of Health and Human Services

5 p.m.

This ceremony is for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students in:

  • The College of Arts and Letters
  • The College of Engineering, Forestry, and Natural Sciences
  • The W.A. Franke College of Business
