This December, one of the most beloved holiday ballets returns to Northern Arizona University’s Ardrey Memorial Auditorium.
“The Nutcracker” tells the story of young Clara, who receives a nutcracker as a special gift from her godfather at her family’s extravagant Christmas Eve party. Unbeknownst to her, there is more to this wooden figure than meets the eye.
Experience this memorable classic as captivating choreography and enchanting music brings to life Clara’s magical evening with a festive party, a battle against an army of sinister mice and a celebration in the Land of Sweets.
Presented by the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Charles Latshaw, “The Nutcracker” features the Flagstaff Youth Corale and the NAU Community Music and Dance Academy Ballet Troup, directed by Andrew Needhammer.
Evening performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 2, with a Lollipop matinee for children at 2 p.m. on Dec. 2.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the NAU Central Ticket Office in the University Union of the Flagstaff campus or by calling (928) 523-6661.
