The Phoenix Suns will make their return to Flagstaff when they report for training camp at Northern Arizona University from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Suns back to NAU and to Flagstaff,” said NAU President Rita Cheng. “Their presence on our campus puts an exclamation point on our educational partnership and brings energy to the entire community. We look forward to another great season together.”
This year marks the 19th time and the third consecutive season that NAU has hosted the team’s training camp. The team first used Flagstaff as a training camp site in 1986, coincidentally the first training camp as a player for now-Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek.
Training camp begins at the Rolle Activity Center on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 3. The team will not hold a public scrimmage this year.
Phoenix opens the preseason schedule against the Sacramento Kings at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Talking Stick Resort Arena in preparation for the club’s 48th NBA season.
