Northern Arizona University will honor the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. in “The Importance of Black Lives,” a virtual presentation hosted by the Office of Inclusion at 9 a.m. on Jan. 18
The presentation will reflect on the racial injustices impacting the nation. Keynote speaker Marc Lamont Hill will speak about the importance of black lives and why they matter. Hill is an activist, professor, commentator, host and TV personality. Currently, he hosts “BET News” and the “Coffee & Books” podcast.
After the presentation, a moderated discussion will be held with Hill. Registration is required and can be found on the MLK Day Celebration webpage or by contacting Jessica Daniels, assistant director of The Office of Inclusion, at Jessica.Daniels@nau.edu. Spots are limited and will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis, with priority given to NAU students.
