- Marley Oakes, a history major and student employee in Cline Library, Special Collections and Archives (SCA) recently curated the virtual exhibit Flagstaff 2020: A Clear Vision. The exhibit draws upon documents, ephemera, photographs, video recordings and oral history interviews from the Flagstaff 2020 Records created during the Flagstaff 2020 citizen’s visioning project. The exhibit provides a retrospective view of the 1996-97 project. It summarizes all aspects of the community visioning process and provides insight into whether and how the community’s vision for the greater Flagstaff area in the year 2020 was realized. With project manager and SCA archivist for Discovery Samantha Meier, the exhibit kicked off via a virtual opening on July 2 and included NAU professor Fred Solop and NAU alumna Kathy Turner. A recording of the opening is viewable on the Cline Library’s Facebook page. Oakes also was invited by the Flagstaff Public Library to give a virtual presentation about the exhibit on July 17 via Zoom and Facebook Live.
