In yet another 2020 twist, NAU’s annual luminaria tradition is open for faculty and staff to help set up.
This event, which has gone on for more than five decades, is typically student-run, but with the fall semester ending early students have already left campus, so NAU faculty and staff can contribute their skills and holiday cheer to the annual tradition. It will be scaled back this year; luminarias will be set up to spell “♡ NAU” behind Gammage (Bldg. 1), so the display will be visible from Milton Road.
The committee needs 30 volunteers to create and place luminaria bags; sign up online for a one-hour slot on Dec. 11.
Volunteers will be following strict COVID safety protocols. This will be outdoors, so dress warm, wear a mask and come by yourself.
