A project to create an east-west pedestrian and bicycle pathway across campus is scheduled to begin Aug. 8.

The McCreary Mall Pedway Improvement Project will accommodate student outflow from Cline Library while opening a landscaped pathway that reaches across campus to the new Health and Learning Center. The pathway will include dedicated bike lanes and pedestrian walkways.

Once the project is complete, McCreary Drive will be one-way westbound with two bike lanes, and Lot P16 will be accessed only from the southwest corner. The changes are intended to alleviate traffic snarls that occur at the intersection of Knoles and McCreary during the school year.

Work is expected to be completed by October.
