Website offers videos to recognize, prevent workplace violence

Northern Arizona University has added to some tools in its ongoing effort to make campus safety a priority.

A new website, nau.edu/safetytraining, is now available to help faculty, staff and students become a part of the campus violence solution and help keep campus, classrooms, and offices as safe as possible.

The site features two videos that address violence in the workplace. The first, Flashpoint: Recognizing and Preventing Violence in the Campus Environment, details some of the warning signs and how to respond in a way that would prevent violence.

The second video, Shots Fired—Guidance for Surviving an Active Shooter Situation, teaches strategies for preventing and surviving an active shooter situation. The videos can be accessed anytime to anyone with an active NAU account.

These trainings are also available to be presented in person by the NAU Office of Emergency Management by emailing ready@nau.edu.
