The Town and Gown Theater Company—a collaboration between Northern Arizona University and Theatrikos Theater Company—invites campus and community members to audition for its summer season productions at 7 p.m. April 25 and 26 in NAU’s Studio Theater in the Fine Arts building off Riordan Road.
The first production is Psychopathia Sexualis by award-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley, a master of witty, barbed dialogue. The show is a smart comedy about men, their bewilderments and a shrink who is the personification of evil. Casting is for three men and two women.
Directed by Kathleen McGeever, chair of the NAU’s Theater department, Psychopathia Sexualis will take the stage at NAU’s Studio Theater July 9-11, 16-18, 23-25 and 30-31 and Aug. 1. Rehearsals begin June 2.
Town and Gown also will bring theater to a younger audience by adding a touring story theater for children. The Children’s Tour is looking for five to eight adult actors to travel around Flagstaff at various venues on weekdays throughout July. Rehearsals begin June 2.
To audition, prepare two contrasting monologues or be prepared to read material provided. Callbacks are scheduled at 7 p.m. April 27.
