What is your favorite holiday tradition? How many celebrations do you have? And most importantly, what IS the most-loved Thanksgiving dish? The Lumberjack community has spoken! Find out more about how the NAU community celebratesor doesn’t. *drum roll, please*

Question 1: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
Top answer: Stuffing!

Mac & cheese and Brussels sprouts were on the low end, with mashed potatoes, turkey & gravy and stuffing ranking as the top three dishes. We covered all the traditional Thanksgiving favoritesand some not-so-traditional dishes made an appearance in the write-in category.

  • Vegan turkey & gravy
  • Gohan (rice) with gravy
  • Coca-Cola salad
  • Pecan pie
  • Tamales and corn

Question 2: What’s your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
Top answer: Watching the Thanksgiving Day parade!

Whether your traditions take place on Thanksgiving Day or the weekend that follows, the NAU community’s favorite ways to celebrate are watching the parade, going hiking and watching football. Watching the Westminster Dog Show and running a 5K were at the bottom of the list.

  • Baking, cooking, eating and visiting with family
  • Playing a pick-up football or golf game
  • Board games with family
  • Wearing PJs to dinner!
  • Sleeping

Question 3: What’s your ideal type of celebration?
Top answer: A big family dinner with aunts, uncles, cousins–the works!

According to the poll, the majority of Lumberjacks love spending time with their families and communities, while some prefer spending it solo or skipping the festivities altogether.
