Why I support United Way

The United Way campaign is officially under way. This is an important focus for Northern Arizona University because it allows all of us the opportunity to give back to the community in which we live. My loyalty as a proud NAU Lumberjack is as powerful as my desire to be an engaged citizen of Flagstaff.

Historically, NAU has supported United Way, and President Rita Cheng is eager to continue this tradition. When large organizations like NAU participate in the United Way campaign, more energy and resources are leveraged. When every member of an organization gives, be it small or generous, it is used to better our community and as a whole makes a bigger and broader impact in our community.

I support the United Way because similar to many of you, I want to help as many people as possible. There are some community agencies that are near and dear to my heart that I support routinely every year, but there are others that serve worthwhile causes that I am unaware of and for me, the best way for some of my support to find these agencies and help fellow citizens is through the United Way.

As the campaign kicks off on-campus and community-wide, I encourage all NAU employees to consider giving to the United Way. Your participation is not only a selfless act, but will make a lasting impact in Northern Arizona.

Go Jacks!
