  • Adrian_NixtCollege of Education students were awarded $235,000 in scholarships at the College of Education Scholarship Donor andRecipient Reception on Oct. 6. At the reception, 77 scholarships and 211 individual awards were given to 165 students.
  • Adrian Nixt, senior on the NAU women’s soccer team, was named Big Sky Offensive Play of the Week last week. She had one of the best performances in her career, scoring three goals in the game against Idaho State. Nixt, pictured right, is now one of four Lumberjacks who have scored three goals in one game; the last time was in 2008. Read more online.
  • NAU freshman Evan Genuise went viral this week with a short, 7-second clip of his now-famous dormitory door, rigged to play musical cues from the 1990s sitcom “Seinfeld” when people enter. Featured in Time and Buzzfeed with on-air segments by Good Morning America and ABC15, the video currently has more than 50,000 retweets. NAU Social sat down with Genuise and his roommate to talk door sensors and the inspiration behind it in this video.
