  • Ashley Taylor, Northern Arizona University track and field athlete, was named the Big Sky’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following her school record in the 800-meter dash at the Mountain T’s Invitational this weekend. Taylor’s record time of 2:05.92 is the ninth best in the country, the best in the Big Sky indoor season, and the third best time in the history of the Big Sky Conference.
  • Best Delegate ranked Northern Arizona University’s Model United Nations (UN) team in the Top 50 Outstanding Delegations of all North American university Model UN teams. NAU teams have participated in four national and international conferences during the 2017-18 year, winning awards at three conferences. The teams will attend conferences in San Francisco, Panama, and Los Angeles during the spring semester.
  • First-year astronomy Ph.D. student Lauren Biddle was the lead author on a paper with Lowell Observatory researchers Lisa Prato, Joe Llama and Brian Skriff, which was published in Astrophysical Journal Letters. The paper looks at activity around a young star classical T Tauri star located in the Taurus star-forming region.

  • Junior Raquel Gonzales was honored as WAC Diver of the Week on Tuesday following her career-best score of  44.30 in the platform competition at the NAU Quad Diving meet. This is the second career and first season honor for Gonzales.
