Large woodblock prints created by students and pressed with a steamroller will be on display from Jan. 20 to Feb. 13 in the Beasley Art Gallery.
The black and white prints were created last fall by NAU students in the printmaking and art education programs as well as students from Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy.
The students spent hours creating the images by carving into fiberboard. They then prepped large wood blocks which they coated in ink and covered in muslin and carpet padding before going over them with a steamroller to impress the images onto the fabric.
There will be an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23. The prints will be on display Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is free to attend.
