  • Northern Arizona University was named No. 1 by College Choice in its list of 10 Most Affordable Online Bachelor’s in Social Work. The ranking emphasized that NAU’s Social Work degree is CSWE-accredited, making a student eligible for advanced standing at the graduate level.
  • Professor Allen Reich recently published the second edition of his human resource management textbook, Management of Hospitality Human Resources: Theory and Practice for Maximizing Management and Employee Potentialwith Kendall Hunt Publishers. The book focuses on experiential learning, including guidelines for preparing a plan to identify and correct human resource problems. The book will sell for a fraction of the price of competing books.
  • Steven Barger, professor of psychological sciences, recently published a paper in the Journal of the American Heart Association. The research compared subjective health measures with objective laboratory-based biomarkers for the prediction of mortality over the course of approximately 11 years. The full paper can be found online.
  • An article entitled “A Basic Study Skills Seminar Using a Course Connected Mentoring Model” by Rebecca Campbell, associate professor of educational psychology, and Kaitlin Hublitz, lecturer in Academic Transition Programs, will be included in the forthcoming book, What Makes the First-Year Seminar High-Impact? An Exploration of Effective Educational Practices.
