  • Marie Baker-Ohler, lecturer of speech communication and coordinator of NAU’s 2+2 degree program at Glendale Community College, was elected president of the Arizona Communication Association and will plan the association’s 2011 meeting.
  • Twelve electrical engineering students, in coordination with the Institute of Tribal Environmental Professionals and Prometheus Renewables Inc., designed and installed a solar electric system for Tuba City Junior High School on the Navajo Nation to provide data for future science activities at the school. The students also worked with the school’s science teachers to provide outreach activities and curriculum related to solar energy.
  • Eleven members of the NAU student triathlon club, TriJacks, were among 784 athletes competing at the USA Collegiate Triathlon 2010 National Championship at Buffalo Springs Lake in Lubbock, Texas, April 17.
