  • Scott Anderson, a professor of Environmental Sciences, participated in a multi-author, multi-university study of the long-term history of fire in giant sequoia groves in California, which resulted in an article, “Multi-millennial fire history of the Giant Forest, Sequoia National Park, California,” published recently in Fire Ecology.   • Cindy Liu, a doctoral student in biology, has been selected as a Philanthropic Educational Organization Scholar Award recipient. Awards are one-time competitive, merit-based awards for women of the United States and Canada who are pursuing a doctoral level degree. Liu will receive $15,000 as a one-time, scholarship.
