  • Joe Cornett, professor of art, was nominated for NICHE magazine’s Arts Educator of the Year award for his “unwavering dedication to the promotion of the arts.” The winner will be announced Feb. 19 at the 2006 NICHE Awards Ceremony in Philadelphia.
  • Gary L. Emanuel and Mary I. Dereshiwsky, associate professors of educational leadership, and Bill Wright, department chair of educational leadership, presented “Making the Grade: A formative evaluation of educational leadership doctoral student satisfaction with program delivery” at the Hawaii International Conference in Education earlier this month.
  • Jerry R. Lewis, assistant professor of educational leadership at NAU-Yuma, delivered the keynote address for the Yuma Area Adult and Youth Leadership Program on Jan. 12 at Arizona Western College. Lewis’ presentation was “People in Positions of Leadership Are Not Always Leaders of People.”
