A small fire started on the third floor of Wilson Hall this morning, causing minor damage and requiring the residents to be evacuated for about two hours. No one was injured.
The fire started at about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday and was contained to a small area of one room. Smoke alarms sounded, but the fire was not hot enough to trigger the sprinkler system.
Five units from the Flagstaff Fire Department and the NAU Police Department responded.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the amount of damage has yet to be determined.
Wilson houses about 380 residents, who were evacuated briefly to Sechrist, Reilly and Allen halls.
