Human resources is reminding administrators and service professionals that six-month contracts will be effective July 1.
The “6 plus 6 option,” implemented for FY10, shifted the university from 12-month to a six-month contract with another six-month renewal period at the end of each fiscal year. The two contracts per year affords the university more flexibility to respond to its uncertain and frequently changing budget situation while preserving a greater period of certainty for the affected employees.
