Lynn Bartles, a 1980 journalism graduate, will be honored during the School of Communication’s 2007 Associated Press/Robert R. Eunson Award Ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in room 119 of the School of Communication.
Bartles, a former editor-in-chief of The Lumberjack who has worked as a reporter for The Rocky Mountain News in Denver since 1993, will be awarded the 2007 Eunson Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award in Journalism.
She recently was honored with the Public Service Award from the Colorado Press Association for her work exposing ethics problems at the Colorado Legislature.
Sandy Tolan, longtime journalist and author of the critically acclaimed book The Lemon Tree: An Arab, a Jew, and the Heart of the Middle East, will be keynote speaker at the event. Tolan teaches international reporting and radio at the Graduate School of Journalism at UC-Berkeley.
Michelle Williams, Associated Press bureau chief, also will make a presentation.
