NAU’s Employee Development Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, in The W.A. Franke College of Business.
Registration for “Empowered through Partnership: Sowing the Seeds of Service,” will be open until April 30. The event is free to all staff and faculty.
Participants will:
- explore how to recognize and attend to individual needs
- find ways to partner with others to meet mutual needs
- reach outside of themselves to help meet broader needs as part of living in a community
“Many would agree it’s always been advantageous to do these things,” said Marcia Warden, training coordinator for Human Resources. “But in the climate we live and work in these days, it’s really become a necessity—both for personal well-being and for professional and organizational effectiveness.”
More than 30 breakout sessions will be offered in addition to a volunteer service fair during the lunch hour. Session topics will include Volunteerism and Leadership Opportunities, Using Emotional Intelligence at Work, Utilizing Student Employees, Bridging Recruitment Through Partnerships, Re-visioning Retirement, CCC2NAU, Nurturing Fun and Laughter, and more.
