Northern Arizona University’s Employee Development Day is back this summer. The event encourages colleagues to share knowledge and learn from each other, reminding all of the importance being a lifelong learner has both in and out of work. Almost 40 new sessions will be presented by employees, for employees between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 22 in The W. A. Franke College of Business and Rolle Activity Center.

Sessions in the “Pathways to Excellence: Develop U” event range in topics from technology to meditation and are designed to foster personal and professional growth and development. This year’s sessions include “Speed Communicating,” “Practical Self-Defense Principles,” “Email Therapy,” “Skill Building for Diversity and Inclusion,” “Putting Your iPad to Work” and more.

Each 60-minute morning session will be repeated in the afternoon with a lunch break in between. A service fair will be held during this time, where local organizations and campus departments will help participants find ways to give back to the community and learn more about the role of different departments at NAU.

All sessions are free and open to any NAU employee, but space is limited. Registration for sessions is now open at NAU.edu/EDD. Questions can be directed to assistant director of learning and development Cassie Petit at (928) 523-9338 or cassie.petit@nau.edu.
