Deadline to nominate outstanding employees for the President’s Achievement Award is Feb. 15

Feb. 7, 2019

The President’s Achievement Award recognizes classified staff and service professionals that exceeds Northern Arizona University’s expectations by working with others to create community in the workplace and demonstrating loyalty to NAU’s mission, values and goals.

Sound like someone you know? Any NAU employee can nominate someone. The last day to send in nominations is Feb. 15.

To be nominated, an employee must be in good standing with the university and have at least three years of performance appraisals. Employees who previously won the award may be nominated again if it has been five years since they received the award. Any prior nominee who didn’t receive the award can be nominated again.

Once an employee is nominated, the dean, director and department head review the nominations and decide who makes it to the next step, the vice president. The vice president decides which nominees make it to the screening committee. The screening committee makes recommendations to the president, who makes the final award decision.

The president reviews the recommendations and decides who the winners are in April. Recipients are recognized by the president and receive $1,000.

To make a nomination, fill out the form and send it to Ryan Thomas at Rayan.E.Thomas@nau.edu or send it to P.O. Box 4030. For more information go to the President’s Achievement Award website.
