Presidential fellowship program to recognize outstanding doctoral students

Doctoral students in the forest

A new Presidential Fellowship Program will award stipend packages to top incoming Ph.D. students at Northern Arizona University.

The program will offer 15 fellowships beginning in 2016-17 to high-achieving students. Fellows will receive stipends totaling $23,000 or higher, depending on the specific program, and the awards are renewable for up to four years. Additional professional development funding of up to $1,000 per year may be used to support research, equipment needs or conference presentation travel.

Fellows will engage actively in the local community of scholars through participation in seminar series and professional development workshops offered by the Graduate College.

Following interviews with applicants, NAU faculty will nominate eligible students in seven different programs for Presidential Fellowship Awards.
