Obituary: Joshua Metzler, NAU freshman

Joshua Metzler

Joshua Metzler, a freshman in The W.A. Franke College of Business, died in an automobile accident March 10. He was 19 years old.

Mr. Metzler was born Oct. 25, 1991, in Fallbrook, Calif., to Ken and Lisa Metzler. He graduated from Fallbrook High School.

As  a volunteer at Riverview Church, Mr. Metzler was actively involved for eight years in outreach efforts in Mexico, which placed him in the roles of Sunday school teacher, loft house builder, audio/visual technician and soup kitchen server.

Mr. Metzler enjoyed reading, photography, playing guitar, scuba diving, motorcycle riding and weightlifting. He will be remembered for his wisdom and excellent moral character.

Mr. Metzler is survived by his parents, Ken and Lisa Metzler; and sisters Karese de Haan and Christina Metzler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or Riverview Church in Bonsall, Calif. A guestbook is available online.
