A new web site has been launched featuring Northern Arizona University’s sustainability efforts under one umbrella.

Green NAU (nau.edu/green) is a one-stop portal to NAU’s environmental and sustainability activities in education, research, operations and community engagement.

“The web site highlights environmental sustainability as a key value across the university, demonstrating the breadth and depth of this commitment across academics, operations and virtually every aspect of our activities,” said Shelley Silbert, director of Strategic Environmental Initiatives for the vice president for Research and chair of NAU’s Environmental Caucus.

The Environmental Caucus created Green NAU as part of its mission to advance the institutional commitment to sustainability and to promote education, research and collaboration on the environment. The caucus includes students, faculty, staff and the university’s environmental partners and has about 300 individuals participating on its listserv.

NAU President John Haeger became a charter signatory of the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment in 2007. Green NAU works to advance this commitment by promoting communication and reporting on the university’s leadership in addressing climate change through research, curriculum and operations.
