New service professional compensation plan gets approval

A new compensation plan has been approved for service professional classifications.

The new plan will provide a foundation for administration of salaries, including enhanced methods for assessing NAU’s market competitiveness for service professional positions.

Market data will be the primary driver in setting “market rates,” with all classifications having a market rate assigned either by being benchmarked to salary survey jobs or estimated by comparing to similar NAU positions having benchmarks.

Because NAU’s compensation philosophy is to maintain salary levels as close to competitive market rates as feasible, employees who are significantly below their position’s market rate will receive a salary adjustment.

A few salary adjustments for addressing compression issues also will be a part of the plan’s implementation.

Details of the new compensation plan are availableĀ online.

Information sessions will be held in early March. Dates and times of these sessions are availableĀ online.
