Phoebe Morgan, professor of criminology and criminal justice, has been named the new coordinator of the Faculty Ombuds Program, announced Liz Grobsmith, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.

Morgan replaces retiring political science professor Gary Buckley, who has coordinated the program since 2006.

The Faculty Ombuds Program provides informal and confidential conflict resolution options to members of NAU’s faculty.

Grobsmith said the combination of Morgan’s “open and supportive interpersonal style, her innovative ideas about outreach and her academic background in studying the complaint process make her uniquely qualified for this important responsibility.”

Morgan begins this nine-month, half-time assignment Aug. 18.
