Members of the NCAA site visit team are on campus as part of Northern Arizona University’s 10-year re-certification process.
The four-person team will meet with representatives from NAU’s NCAA steering committee as well as student athletes and members of the Flagstaff community. They also will tour NAU’s athletic facilities.
The team is scheduled to arrive today and remain on campus until Thursday afternoon.
Site visit team members include David Sweet, president of Youngstown State University and chair of the site visit team; Larry George, professor of modern languages, Missouri State University; Bridget Martin, associate athletics director, McNeese State University; and Abbie Renaker, NCAA liaison.
Members of NAU’s NCAA steering committee include Sarah Bickel, associate vice president for Student Affairs, chair; Rick Brandel, dean of students, subcommittee chair for Governance and Commitment to Rules Compliance; Ron Pitt, associate provost for Academic Administration and subcommittee chair for Academic Integrity; Cindy Anderson, associate director of Residence Life and subcommittee chair for Equity and Student-Athlete Well-Being; Maria Bruggeman, associate athletics director and senior woman administrator; Rebecca Butcher, research specialist for the vice provost for Undergraduate Studies; Jim Fallis, athletics director; and NAU President John Haeger.
