The NAUPD is a nationally accredited law enforcement organization with a commitment to community-based policing. Although some of the programs, like the Safe Walk Program, look a little different during the pandemic, the officers and employees remain focused on the safety of NAU’s campus and community.
“We do everything that a normal police department would do and then actually a whole lot more,” Sgt. Joe Tritschler told NAU-TV. “Not only are we trying to enforce the law, but a huge component is the education side of it.”
