The Northern Arizona University Police Department once again has been re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
“This reaccreditation reflects the dedication, professionalism and caliber of the NAUPD employees we employ and retain,” said Kathy Paleski, interim police chief.
In May 2006, a team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. examined all aspects of the NAU Police Department’s policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The assessors found the department, the only accredited law enforcement agency north of the Valley, was in compliance with over 350 standards set by the commission.
NAU officials were notified of the reaccreditation after making a presentation in Reno on Nov. 18. Accreditation is effective for three years.
