NAUPD awarded state grant for officer training

The Northern Arizona University Police Department is getting some backup from the state in providing specialized training for officers.

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has awarded NAUPD $5,400 in grant funding to provide northern Arizona officers with advanced training to help them detect drug-impaired drivers.

In addition to the training, NAUPD will use a portion of the funds to conduct DUI saturation patrols and youth alcohol awareness education.
