NAU rises to United Way challenge

The university exceeded its fund-raising goal for the annual United Way campaign, thanks to the support and donations from hundreds of NAU employees.

“It is time to celebrate,” said Molly Munger, director of community relations at NAU and chairperson for the university’s United Way of Northern Arizona campaign. Donations from nearly 300 NAU colleagues contributed to the total $70,430 raised for United Way, which includes $14, 000 raised from the NAU Arts & Crafts Fair in November.

Munger credits the 56 United Way department coordinators across campus for the campaign’s success, and said Cindy Grider and the committee that planned the crafts fair helped increase the visibility of the United Way mission.

“By reaching our goal, we are making a positive impact in Flagstaff and sending the message about how much we care about our community,” she said.
