Universities in the Southwest are setting the standard for building a green and sustainable economy, a topic to be discussed by NAU President John Haeger on Friday at Arizona State University in Tempe.
Haeger will join ASU President Michael Crow for a Presidents’ Panel at the 2012 Southwest Regional Collaborative American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment meeting. The event, “Creating a Climate Legacy: Fulfilling the Presidents’ Climate Commitment,” will offer resources to higher education institutions including how to make progress in a weak economy and how to address the needs of minority-serving and underserved institutions.
Haeger became a charter signatory of the climate commitment in 2007 and has set a goal for NAU to be carbon neutral by 2020.
