The Northern Arizona University School of Music will present the Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of professor Steve Hemphill, in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in Ardrey Memorial Auditorium.
Embracing global musical influences throughout this concert, the performances by percussion trios, quartets and quintets will showcase music inspired by India, Africa, Brazil, Central America, and an unusual archaic ritual cult. In addition to junior music education major Tabi Branson and Hemphill the concert will feature guest artist John O’Neal, assistant professor of music at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
