Steve Schaeffer, ceramics adjunct faculty and research technician, is invited to participate in the 2009 Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art held in at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy, in December. The exhibition will include more than 800 artists from 80 countries and supports the United Nations program, “Dialogue Between Civilizations.”
“It feels really good that people out there enjoy my work and respect it,” said Schaeffer, whose pieces for the exhibit will be chosen by an international committee of art experts.
“It is indeed a great honor for Steve to be invited to show in this exhibit of international stature,” said Tom Patin, director of the School of Art.
