Employees enrolled in NAU’s Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits plan will see increases when the new year begins Jan 1.
It has been two years since NAU employee premiums were adjusted.
The total cost of the health plan will increase by about 9.5 percent with 65 percent of the increase covered by the university.
Employee-only monthly deductibles will increase by $14 a month. Employee-plus-one coverage will go up $43 a month, and employee-plus-family will increase by $54 a month.
Specifics for the updated benefits program will be posted to the Human Resources site by mid-October.
Open enrollment is scheduled Oct. 27 through Nov. 21. All employees must reenroll for vision, life insurance, short-term disability and flexible spending accounts.
Employees who participate in NAU’s BCBSAZ Wellness Incentive plan are eligible to earn points for rewards and to receive up to a $10 credit each pay period for completing the BluePrint Health Assessment.
The current benefits plan will be in place through Dec. 31.
