Julie Ryan has been named executive director of Campus Health Services after a competitive national search.
Ryan will guide strategic planning as well as day-to-day administration of Campus Health Services, which includes Counseling Services, Medical Services and Health Promotion.
“I love NAU and the community,” Ryan said. “Having earned my degrees here, I feel very loyal to Flagstaff and NAU and am looking forward to working with the students. I have a strong background in healthcare, hospital operations and practice management but I wanted to take on a new challenge and work within a dynamic university setting.”
Having spent the past 30 years in leadership roles within healthcare management, Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the leadership post. She comes to NAU from Flagstaff Medical Center, where she led the physician division and orthopedic service line as director of operations. Prior to that, Ryan managed the FMC hospitalist program and a multi-specialty independent practice.
“After a long search, we are pleased to have Julie join our team,” said Jane Kuhn, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. “She brings extensive experience in health administration and is very well connected in the Flagstaff medical community.”
Ryan earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in administration with an emphasis in health sciences from Northern Arizona University.
Campus Health Services is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and serves more than 20,000 students, faculty and staff.
