With school starting Monday, the new class of Lumberjacks moved in this week, with some help from a few familiar faces. Student leaders, our Welcome Back Jacks and Louie the Lumberjack joined President Rita Cheng to pitch in as the Class of 2023 arrived on campus.

New freshmen: 5,346
New transfer students: 2,603
Total enrollment: 30,377
Graduate student enrollment has increased by 6 percent.
The highest number of graduate student increases can be found in:
- 45 percent in the College of Engineering, Informatics, and Applied Sciences
- 35 percent in Online, Statewide and Education Innovation
- 28 percent in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
Undergraduate enrollment has increased in the College of Arts and Letters by 6 percent and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences by 5 percent.
Hispanic enrollment is up; Hispanic-identifying students now make up a little more than 24 percent of NAU’s statewide enrollment.
Native American enrollment is 2.8 percent.
69 percent of NAU students are Arizona residents.
