Milton and University intersection to close for one month

The intersection of Milton Road and University Avenue will be closed to all traffic for one month starting Wednesday, Feb. 19, as city construction crews install new storm drain and utility infrastructure.

Drivers will be able to access properties along University Avenue through Yale Street and the city’s extension of Beulah Boulevard, which connects to University Avenue through a roundabout and was officially opened to the public in December.

Thru-traffic along Milton Road will not be impacted.

This construction is part of the city’s Beulah/University Realignment Project, a multiphase effort to develop stormwater infrastructure, a civilian underpass and a roundabout while improving intersections between South Beulah Boulevard and South Knoles Drive. This project is expected to be completed by summer.

Those looking for additional information on this month’s construction and the realignment project can call the project hotline at (928) 255-5153 or visit www.beulahuniversityproject.com.
