Michelle Parker has been selected as general counsel for Legal Affairs at Northern Arizona University. The announcement was made last week by NAU President Rita Cheng, concluding a national search.
“Michelle is an outstanding attorney with a keen understanding of higher education and Arizona law,” Cheng said. “She is a valuable resource to faculty and staff, and will be an even greater asset in her new role.”
Parker joined NAU in 2010 as associate general counsel. Prior to joining the university, she served as outside counsel for several higher education institutions including Arizona State University.
“I can think of no higher honor than to serve as NAU’s general counsel, and I look forward to continuing to forge strong working relationships with colleagues across the institution,” Parker said. “It is a personal goal to ensure that the campus community is aware that I am here to help find solutions and work with them to help achieve their business objectives.”
Parker earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English and her juris doctorate from Arizona State University.
