Faculty, staff and students joined in to represent the university in Flagstaff’s annual Independence Day Parade last week. Participants enthusiastically tossed toy basketballs, footballs and soccer balls into the crowd of over 10,000 spectators.
NAU’s marching band joined the festivities with lively renditions of “Louie, Louie” and the NAU Fight Song. The new-look Louie the Lumberjack also made his first public appearance.
NAU was one of more than 100 entries taking part in this year’s parade. Flagstaff’s strong lineup of holiday activities contributed to Travel + Leisure naming Flagstaff America’s best town for Fourth of July.
