The first phase of the university’s ePlanning initiative launched today in the MyNAU portal, which now allows access to LOUIE.
Students can view their class schedules, holds, financial information and perform functions such as enrolling in classes and paying fees. A new feature is a “what-if?” function that will help students determine the requirements of changing their major.
The release of the LOUIE portal channel is the first of many services that will be rolled out to students as parts of the larger ePlanning project between now and late 2011.
“This project is an opportunity to drastically change how students experience academic support services at NAU. The online enhancement of advising will help students make decisions, set goals and stay on track,” said Eileen Mahoney, director of the Gateway Student Success Center. “Our hope is that the ePlanning project will simplify the presentation of degree requirements so that students can function independently and progress smoothly through their academic programs.”
Future project goals include a portal upgrade with a new design, critical tracking degree progress and a new academic catalog.
