While the Governor’s Office still awaits receipt of the budget bills passed by the Legislature last week, Northern Arizona University President John Haeger joined his colleagues at Arizona State University and the University of Arizona in expressing concern that the legislative budget cuts threaten to prevent the state from receiving federal education stimulus funds.
Gov. Jan Brewer met with budget stakeholders June 9 to hear concerns about the legislative budget. She has yet to indicate whether she will veto the legislative budget but has voiced her concern that it relies too heavily on cuts that will hurt critical service
