The Learning Assistance Centers, which provide tutoring, computer labs and study skills assistance, have announced a new name to better reflect its programs.
The Student Learning Centers offer the same services as before, as well as a new peer mentoring program that connects out-of-state freshmen with people, departments and resources on campus.
The renamed North Student Learning Center remains located in the University Union, room 254, and the South Student Learning Center is still in building 61, just north of the du Bois Conference Center.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the centers at an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at the North Student Learning Center.
