Joann McCallum, retired secretary, dies at 62

Joann L. McCallum, a retired administrative secretary for NAU’s property administration, died Dec. 10 in her Rimrock home. She was 62.

Mrs. McCallum was born Dec. 22, 1943, in Mt. Clemons, Mich., to Fred and Nona Ray. She worked at NAU from 1988 to her retirement in 1998.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, traveling and visiting family. She was a member of the Lioness Club.

Mrs. McCallum is survived by her husband of more than 44 years, Don McCallum Sr. of Rimrock; son Don McCallum Jr. of Rock Springs, Wyo.; daughter Lisa Hook of Rifle, Colo.; parents, Fred and Nona Ray of Sylvania, Ohio; brother Fred Ray Jr., of White Lake, Mich.; sister Diane Wallace of Swanton, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
