Northern Arizona University’s Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals has received a grant worth nearly $160,000 to assist tribal professionals in protecting their communities from environmental hazards associated with solid waste management.
The funds will be used to develop courses and training materials tentatively scheduled for San Diego, Minneapolis and Albuquerque.
Alan Stephens, state director of USDA Rural Development/Arizona, and Dianna Jennings, special projects coordinator for USDA Rural Development/Arizona, formally presented the $157,718 grant on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the ARD building.
