Debera Thomas, dean of the School of Nursing since 2008, has been selected to serve as interim dean of the College of Health and Human Services. Her appointment begins July 1.
Thomas will replace Leslie Schulz, current executive dean, who recently announced her plans to step down from her administrative role and return to teaching.
As dean of the college Thomas will keep her role as leader of the School of Nursing and the search for a permanent dean will be on hold.
“We look forward to her continuing to serve the entire college over this next year building on the strong accomplishments in program development and delivery, innovative approaches to serving larger student numbers both in Flagstaff and elsewhere, and community partnerships,” said Provost Laura Huenneke.
